• Life-saving on-the-day tips for live illustration success
• What to do *after* the event (you're not done yet!)

Since this is a group programme, we can't give 1:1 feedback inside the course.

We do invite you to bring your questions to the live calls though, so that everybody can benefit from your question! If we get a few questions on a similar theme, we'll answer them together.

We've heard students say that our no-feedback thing is a blessing in disguise. We're encouraging you to find YOUR OWN way of working, and build trust in your own skills :) 

Katie does offer 1:1 portfolio sessions on her Substack 'The Illustrator Jobs Board via the 'Golden Pencil' tier. These portfolio reviews are specifically for live illustrators and graphic recorders.

Nobody is born knowing how to do this stuff...

You’ll know when you try! If you enjoy drawing quickly, like learning new stuff, and don’t mind being watched while you draw then there’s a good chance you have what it takes to be a live illustrator 

And even if you don't ever do live events stuff as a paid gig, being able to take better visual notes is a brilliant life skill. There have been loads of studies on the benefits of visual notes for different learning styles.

It's good for yer brain. (And it's fun & satisfying to make beautiful visual notes, even if they're just for your own enjoyment.)

If you can't make it, don't worry. We record all of our live calls and the replays are uploaded and available to watch (with subtitles) within 48 hours of the call finishing.

A little bit, yes! We’ll chat about how to build your portfolio, what to show, and how to talk about what you do (especially when nobody knows what a live illustrator is yet).
BUT
this isn’t a full-blown business course. It’s a creative, practical 4-week course with some bonus business-y sprinkles on top.

If you’re looking for strategy, money mindset stuff, and the “how to actually get paid” roadmap, we’ve poured all of that (and more) into the Business Course. This one will point you in the right direction - that one takes you all the way there.
